BLUEWATER rides Black to victory over AURORA, 3-1
BLUEWATER relied on the sparkling performance of Kayla Black in net to grab a 3-1 win against AURORA.
BLUEWATER's penalty kill excelled, as BLUEWATER gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.
BLUEWATER was led by Dominique Korakianitis, who finished with one goal and one assist. Korakianitis scored 34 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 BLUEWATER. Cayley Mercer provided the assist.
BLUEWATER also got points from Mercer, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. BLUEWATER also got a goal from Rebecca Kohler as well. In addition, BLUEWATER received assists from Meg Hannon, and Kayla Black who each had one.
AURORA was led by Caroline DeBruin(A), who scored the team's only goal. DeBruin(A) scored 5:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 AURORA. Ashley Rothon assisted on the tally.
Black recorded 26 saves for BLUEWATER. BLUEWATER incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. AURORA's Claire Shaw stopped 13 shots out of the 16 that she faced. AURORA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
